Hello!
I
don’t usually write about Polish bands and artists and with this blog entry I’d
like to change that, by introducing you to one of the most interesting Polish
bands I discovered in a while.
Kwiat
jabłoni is a folk-pop band, founded in 2018 by two siblings : Kasia i Jacek
Sienkiewicz. I don’t think I’ve ever heard a Polish band like that – the
simplicity of sound, sweet, complementary voices with nice harmony and creative
lyrics. I like their prononciation too, it’s almost old-school I’d say and I
really appreciate it, because there are many singers who neglect their
prononciation while singing, and in my opinion, in the case of Polish language
– it just doesn’t sound good.
Interesting
fact: Before, Kasia and Jacek were in a band called Hollow
Quartet (which in the end was in fact a quintet :), with an unconventional
sound and surprising combination of instruments, like the mandolin, the
contrabass, the piano but also the electric guitar and drums.
They are still very young and I can feel that they
have a lot of potencial. For starters, they have a very distinct sound and they
sound really fresh and good together. It’s a perfect music for travelling! They
released their full debut album Niemożliwe not too long ago – on 1st
Frebruary this year. I must say I really enjoy it, you should
give it a try! It’s a
pretty consistent acoustic album, you don’t hear these kind of songs too often
on the radio.
If you want to watch them live, they will be
performing in Poznan at Enea Spring Break Festival on the 25th of April! See
you there! :)
